Jeremy Burden
First Christian Church
Bristol, TN
Jeremy Burden was born and raised in city just outside Vancouver, Canada. Jeremy never intended to go into full time ministry but answered the call after giving the Lord 2 years in a bible school internship where he met his wife, Rachel.
After that he took a job as a youth pastor in Brooklyn, New York for 2.5 years. Then he moved across the river to serve as a youth pastor in Basking Ridge, New Jersey for 8 years. At that time Jeremy and his wife felt the Lord call them to make a faith jump and heard clearly from the Lord, “Make an Abraham move, tell the pastors you are leaving, and I will open up a door for you.”
With the support and love of his pastors Jeremy made the move. The move allowed them to take care of Rachels mom who eventually passed away. The move gave Rachel the opportunity
to be with her mom for the final months of her life.
After that Jeremy received a call from First Christian Church of Bristol Virginia, the church where Rachel grew up in, asking if he wanted to get back into ministry. He accepted and became the Family Pastor in 2019, then became the Senior Pastor in 2020.
Jeremy heart is to see the desire of the Father that is seen in the prayer Jesus teaches His disciples to pray. “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” Jeremy’s travels have not just taken him locally but internationally as well to Mexico, Suriname and Brazil.
Jeremy and Rachel have 4 children and live happily in Bristol, Tennessee.
